Nicodemus has done everything “right” but it’s not enough. Using the story of the bronze serpent, Jesus shows that the problem is not just behavior but a deeper poison of sin that cannot be fixed through self-effort. The solution is
not climbing higher but looking up—trusting in what God has already provided through Christ. True life begins not when we try harder, but when we surrender and receive the new life only Jesus can give.
