What to Expect

What to Expect

Stepping into a new space requires no small amount of courage and risk. We’re grateful you’re considering what it might be like to take that step of faith. We want to help lower the fear threshold for experiencing Grace Pointe live and in-person. There’s nothing like the “real thing.” One way we can do that is to help you know virtually what you’ll see and experience on your first visit here. We think you’ll find Grace Pointe to be easy to navigate and filled with unpretentious people who come alongside of each other as we seek to take one step forward on our journeys of faith.

Each week, you can expect to experience a live band singing worship songs, a time of announcements and prayer, and a message from a member of our preaching team sharing a relevant and engaging sermon from the Bible. Whether this is your first time attending church or you’ve been attending all your life, you’ll find spiritual encouragement each week. Check out this sample of a Sunday service.

We have plenty of parking, including several dedicated spaces for First Time Visitors, young families with infants or anyone needing a little extra help. This dedicated lot is right in front of our front entrance. Think of those as our VIP spaces just for you!

We encourage everyone to come however they feel most comfortable. We have people in 3-piece suits and people in shorts so you’re sure to fit right in regardless of what you wear. This isn’t about putting on your “Sunday best,” it’s about showing up ready to expereince what God has for you!

Upon arriving to Grace Pointe Plainfield, you will be greeted at the door. Please let these individuals know that you are new and interested in the programs available for children. They will get you connected with the right people in the right classrooms.

Our registration process happens in the classrooms. You will be asked to fill out a new visitors/family form. You only need to fill out one form even if you have children in multiple classrooms. You will receive a visitors tag and number for the first few times that you come. Teachers or Director will explain the programs and procedures to you. We will help get you child(ren) settled and involved in the classroom activities.

Once you arrive at GP, a volunteer or the Children’s Director, Mary Anne Schmidt, will be near the main doors to help you register before service begins. Kids ages preschool through 5th-grade start in the service with their parents to participate in musical worship. The worship leader then dismisses the kids at the designated time. In the Commons, a teacher is waiting to take them to their classroom.

The nursery is available for children ages 0-, and the preschool class is available for children ages 3-5.

All children K-5th graders will attend service with their families on 5th Sundays.

Grace Pointe offers an excellent Junior High and High School Ministry. These age groups meet after the worship service during connecting groups in Room 120. You can learn more about Youth Ministry meetings by visiting our Junior High and High School section.

After your first visit, we invite you to come back and join us for a special event called Lunch with the Pastor. This lunch is hosted monthly specifically for newer visitors at Grace Pointe. You will be able to meet Pastor Jared and other church staff and leaders, hear about the mission, vision, and values of Grace Pointe, and have a chance to ask any questions about the church you may have. You will also learn about the next steps to getting involved. Lunch is on us and childcare is provided. Click HERE to learn more, find the next date we will be hosting a lunch, and the link to register.
