Many have marveled at the mystery of Jesus. He was no king, nor held an office, but those in authority sought his counsel. He ruffled the religious and empowered the poor. He gave hope, challenged, showed compassion and healed. He spoke of a kingdom few could imagine and a God people wanted to know.
Historians through the years have written on these facts about Jesus. They’re what make him a respected leader in the land. Little controversy ever surrounded these claims. But, Jesus never called himself a leader, instead he claimed to be something more. Jesus called God his “Father” and identified himself as the son of God. He shared how God loved the world so much that he was sent to save it. But, he wouldn’t save world physically, through battle or political savvy. Instead, Jesus saved the world spiritually- through sacrifice. His sacrifice on a cross would help all those who felt lost, broken, or disconnected reconnect with their heavenly father. Jesus offered this free gift to all those willing to believe he truly was God’s son.
For some, belief seems natural. But, for others belief is a real struggle. If you have questions about Jesus or what it means to become a follower of Jesus, we’d love to speak with you.
